Hi, I’m Dave 👋🏼 I lead the Platform Team at Airtree, which includes portfolio success, marketing, community, and talent specialists that help Airtree deliver world-class networks, programs, and content that give founders an unfair advantage.

I spent the early part of my career in various startups before helping launch LinkedIn and BuzzFeed into APAC. I’ve always had a passion for tech and helping amazing businesses grow, so what better place to do it than Airtree?

Why tech and startups excite me

Working in tech means building new, exciting things, moving fast, constantly trying to solve new problems and figuring things out as you go. Having done this for a while now (the grey hair is a giveaway), I love helping founders avoid some of the mistakes I’ve seen and made throughout the years. Tech is one of ANZ’s fastest-growing sectors and will be powering everything we do, so that’s very exciting to be a part of.

A common thread throughout my career

Working with brilliant, kind and curious people from diverse backgrounds. Every job I’ve had has been through previous relationships, and I am a big believer in paying it forward. Also, I’ve always had fun! If you’re not enjoying what you are doing or you get the Sunday blues thinking about work more often than not, it’s time for a change!

A motto I live by

Worrying about things you can’t control is like paying a debt you may never owe, i.e. don’t do it! We have enough stress in our lives, so don’t sweat the small stuff.

Here’s where you’ll find me on the weekend

Running between various sports, birthday parties and other social activities—basically being an Uber driver for my 2 young daughters. During summer, I spend a lot of time at the beach with the fam and if time permits, try to fit in some exercise. My wife and I also love to eat, so we’re always on the lookout for a new culinary treat.
