Introducing Explorer Cohort 7! These diverse angels are ready to support you on your founder journey.

2024 marks the fourth year of Explorers, our free angel investing program that offers access to education, networks and funds. Since the start, our goal has been to bring some much-needed diversity to the angel investment landscape in Australia and New Zealand because we know more diverse investors result in more diverse investments. The need for this is clear when you look at the numbers. The 2023 State of Australian Startup Funding Report found, of the 242 angels that responded:

  • 82% were male
  • 48% were in their 40s and 22% were over 50
  • 40% earned more than $250,000 per year

We’ve long believed we have a part to play in changing this, and it’s been encouraging to see the diversity that’s come through the program since our launch. Our seventh cohort is no different, with:

  • 56% women, 1% non-binary people and 43% men
  • 46% of participants under the age of 35

These diverse operators are located across ANZ, from Coolum to Christchurch and Kojonup. They’ll spend the next 12 weeks learning everything about angel investing, including angel 101, syndicates, term sheets, legal, deal sourcing and due diligence.
